Fair Play was originally a gold mining town located at the intersections of Perry Creek Rd and Idlewild Rd, just a quarter mile north of E16 Winery’s tasting room. The town was surrounded by numerous gold mines, the largest of which was the Slug Gulch mine not far from Bumgarner Winery.
